Camille Birdsong is a dedicated journalist  currently working and living in Hampton, Virginia. Driven by her passion for storytelling and writing, she takes pride in providing her community with stories that matter. She has worked as a production intern for NBC’s TODAY Show and the Weekend TODAY Show where she logged and transcribed news stories, conducted research, and recorded interviews. She has also interned with two local news publications, the Hampton Roads Messenger and the HBCU Advocate, where she wrote and uploaded articles and managed the publications’ websites. After graduation, Camille wants to be a field producer where she can continue to share stories with those around her.


At Hampton University, Camille works as a line producer for the WHOV-TV news station and the Instagram Team lead for Her Campus’ Hampton University chapter. As a fellow of the William R. Harvey Leadership Institute, she has been active and engaged in her community. She has participated in beach cleanups, mentorship programs, and has completed a virtual 5K run for charity. She volunteers as a pianist on her church’s worship team and spends her downtime shopping, eating with friends, and watching Marvel movies. At the end of the day, Camille remembers to honor God and give Him the glory for the great things He has done in her life.
